Guided by Feng Shui principles, this beautiful decorating project by Nicolas Berthou (b3r2design) takes place in central Paris. If you don’t know anything about this ancient art, you’d better follow the article and get to know the story behind the whole project!
Feng Shui is used in the decorating world with the main goal of creating a loving, supportive, fun and happy home. It does not necessarily mean creating a Zen-type home, but an environment that has the best energy to support a specific activity.
The aim of this project was then to follow the owner in the life changes he was making – both on the professional and personal leves. He was leaving a very rational, cartesian, immaterial work environment and he wanted to join a world of concrete creation and achievement.

As a Feng Shui interior designer, the first choice of Nicolas Berthou was to use healthy material like lime or mineral painting.
In order to follow Yin and Yang (one of Feng Shui fundamental principles), designers interlaced very structured flat tints of color with a very freely inspired decorative painting – combining modern urban decorative elements and classic pieces.
ETTA wall lamps – a masterpiece by DelightFULL inspired by jazz singer Etta Jones, were chosen to create “the link between the earth and the sky”. The headboard was also carefully designed to match the lamps. “They match the gold reflexions and their mat aspect matches the earth coating”.
