The process of making Lobmeyr’s Ripple lighting includes both tradition glass craft skills and modern production engineering of the moving parts. The Poetic Lab designers realised that the beauty of glass lies in the uneven surface resulted from the traditional mouth-blowing process. While the craft skill freezes the beauty of glass in time, the elegant and precise rotation brings the flow of material back to life, as if the dome exists with an uncertainty.
At first sight you might see an abstract painting, but as you go further away from it, you will glimpse a portrait of a recognizable object, depicted in a rough and emotional way. It’s a fragmented moment defying the processes of human vision, such as depth perception and optical illusion. FAUVE for BRABBU explores the plasticity of the materials, such as the texture of the canvas, the hand-gesture imprinted with the paint, and the tridimensionality with the usage of nails. The Oblong Bar Cabinet is considered a hot interior design trend for fall 2014, with a fusion of modernistic and classical elements into a highly detailed and exquisite limited edition furniture piece. The modern cabinet was specifically designed to act as a statement piece in contemporary living rooms and raise the bar on luxury decoration. Handcrafted by finest craftsmen, the luxury cabinet by Boca do Lobo was born from the use of production methods developed to deliver the highest quality.
Designed by Constance Guisset for Petit Friture, Nubilo is a sofa in which the multiplication of cushions evokes the image of a cloud. Softness, comfort, velvet, are accentuated by the association of three high quality materials. The cushions vary in their size and form and ask to be played with. Attached to the sofa structure by elastics and press studs they can be moved and repositioned according to desires, alone or together, seated or lying down.
A fragment of the movement of an ancient breed of horses – the Camargue – is depicted in this Digital Artwork as a symbol of strength, lightness, and agility, a true force of nature found in the most pure wildness. Overlapping frames capture the freedom of this almost intangible white horse and give you a sense of tridimensio- nality from the optical illusion it creates. CAVA-LONNY by BRABBU is part of a set of 4 digital artworks interpreting the forces of nature.
