Zanini was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1978 and grew up watching his father, José Zanine Caldas, work. He trained with Sergio Rodrigues, when it produced its first mobile. In 2002 he graduated in Industrial Design from PUC-Rio.
Son of the architect José Zanine Caldas, who collaborated mainly with Oscar Niemeyer, Zanini of Zanine grew up watching his father work in architecture, sculpture and project design. Today signs parts for large national and international brands such as French Tolix, the Italian Cappellini, Poltrona Frau and Slamp, and the American Espasso.

On the road for over ten years, the youngest son of the architect, sculptor and furniture José Zanine Caldas moves with intimacy between the modern and contemporary, without any fuss or identity crisis. On the contrary, such irreverence only helps to consolidate its brand.

Without a creative process defined – it can go weeks without drawing and suddenly have many ideas in a single day – Zanine dedicated an attentive look at the entire design, development and results: “For me, each piece has a story.”
At the moment, Zanini of Zanine is involved in a major project: the restoration of the former Cine Palace Theatre of Rio de Janeiro which will be renovated for the Olympics. “The challenge is great because we are doing throughout the interior, the entrance, the armchairs, the dressing rooms … The idea is that the space will become multidisciplinary,” he says.
In addition, he continues to develop objects and furniture for various brands and actions. In the future, we want to continue innovating and playing with the scales of possibilities.
